# Classic Chat

> Manual model picker, Normal vs. Temporary chat, and inline image generation.

Classic Chat (`/chat/classic/[id]`) is the power-user mode when you want control over which model answers.

## Model picker

Choose from a curated OpenRouter catalog of models under \$1/M tokens, plus dedicated image models, instead of the automatic selection used in [Agentic Chat](/user-guide/agentic-chat).

## Normal vs. Temporary chat

* **Normal**: saved to your history (locally as a guest, or to your account if signed in).
* **Temporary**: not persisted; use it for one-off queries you don't want saved.

## Inline image generation

Classic Chat can generate images directly in the conversation using the selected image model, without switching to [Studio](/user-guide/studio).
